Beaches in Port Elliot is a laid-back cafe that naturally fits the easygoing coastal lifestyle of the town. Ideally located on North Terrace, it serves as a comfortable spot whether you’re popping in for your morning coffee or settling in for a relaxed weekend brunch. The vibe here embraces casual comfort, balancing indoor seating with a light, airy feel upstairs, and plenty of inviting outdoor tables to soak up some sun or watch the town's quiet rhythm.

Coffee takes center stage at Beaches—expect a well-crafted flat white or a turmeric latte to start your day. The cafe’s menu leans towards fresh, wholesome options with a vegan-friendly slant, making it a good fit for plant-based eaters and those after lighter fare. Standouts like the Smashed Avocado on gluten-free toast with eggs and sauerkraut or their smoothie bowls reflect a focus on simple yet thoughtful ingredients that cater to brunch lovers looking for something nourishing but not fussy.

This spot feels like a local hub where regulars mingle, both indoors and outside, especially on sunny mornings when the light filters through and complements the relaxed conversation. The staff contribute to the welcoming atmosphere, approachable and friendly without being overbearing, letting the space retain a calm, unhurried rhythm.

While the menu isn’t overly extensive, it covers key cravings from toasties and fresh salads to the occasional seasonal special like a pumpkin soup with turmeric and ginger, which offers a cozy alternative on cooler days. Pastries displayed at the counter provide an easy treat if you’re after a simple coffee break rather than a full meal.

Families, friends, and solo visitors alike find Beaches accommodating, with enough seating inside and out to suit different moods—from quiet moments with a book upstairs to lively catch-ups around bigger tables outside. Given its comfortable and photogenic plates, especially the avo stacks and poached eggs, it’s a spot that fits nicely into a slow weekend itinerary or a casual midweek pause.

Overall, Beaches works well for people looking to savor good coffee in a relaxed setting with easy access to wholesome brunch options. It’s not a place to rush through but one that encourages slowing down, making it a quietly steady part of the Port Elliot cafe scene.

My favourite cafe in the world! I love the Kraut toastie, caramel slice and melting moments. Such a nice vibe indoors or upstairs or outside. All the cool people in town come here.

Beaches is a very vegan style cafe that is great for coffees and brunch. love the way they have made the place look, especially the outdoor seating. Would be good to see them expand their menu.

Beaches was the second brunch spot visited in two days and was a highlight of the weekend. The vibe is relaxing and staff very friendly. Our group sat inside. The menu is on the smaller side, yet filled with ample choices. The pastries at the counter looked amazing too, if you wish to have a coffee and a small bite. Our group all ordered the Smashed Avo and eggs. The plates were picture perfect. I got mine gluten free, and the bread was nicely toasted. My companions bruschetta looked delicious. The serves were generous. The local sauerkraut that came with the meal was tasty, but my favourite part was definitely the toasted spice and sunflower seed sprinkle on the eggs. The poached eggs themselves were a little overdone for my preference. The yolks were a soft firm, instead of runny. All the eggs on our meals were cooked identically, so maybe that’s the café standard. The coffee was a highlight. Having had some pretty poor coffee elsewhere through the weekend, it was much savoured and enjoyed. I’ll definitely be back

My family had brunch here. I had the most amazing pumpkin soup with tumeric and Ginger. It was so good!! My family had a vegetarian toastie which was also good. Coffee was nice. There is plenty of seating inside and outside.

One of my fave little coffee spots. Perfect for after swim and walks, good coffee and healthy food options set in amongst a setting full of laid back, easy going beach vibes. Menu is not huge but we like that. Must point out that it’s more a vegetarian type food spot so if your looking for a hearty bacon and eggs type menu probs best to check out somewhere else.

The salad of 2025! What a delicious meal. I was stopping for a quick brunch on the way to work so I didn’t check the menu, just chose from the display cabinet. I didn’t really feel like a salad but it was gluten free so I had to try it. Wow! The perfect combination of flavours and textures and packed full of healthy veggies. Hands down the best salad of the year. Great coffee too.

Beaches Café was such a little gem — I have no dietary requirements but I’m a picky eater— in saying that; being caught by suprise from the fresh, wholesome home modern food at prices that actually feel fair. Everything tastes vibrant, heck I had Vegemite and cheese on my croissant just to be painfully different. made with care, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Great spot if you want plant-based meals, a morning coffee, or maybe a moment to yourselves with the pet…
